It’s Diabetes Awareness Month!

29daisies:

It isn’t pink or sexy - it doesn’t involve boobs, football players, or cute shirts. It’s about being grateful you/your loved one wakes up in the morning. It’s 3am blood sugars and the smell of insulin on your hands after changing a pump site or filling a syringe. That’s a diabetic’s LIFE. Reblog if you have diabetes or love someone who does.

So, you both have it? That’s cute.

Can I just say, my boyfriend is amazing. Not only is he my role model for diabetes, but he’s my role model for everything. He’s the best, and has made the last 3 months of my life absolutely awesome. He’s my best friend and my boyfriend. How much better can it get? People joke that he gave me diabetes, but if I have to suffer with this disease for the rest of my life, but get to be with him, ill take it. I wouldn’t ever go back and change the path I’m on, but I’ll make sure his path is right next to mine forever:)

Doesn’t it suck?

I wear it all the time. My medical alert bracelet is tied on my wrist all the time. Yet how is it possible that I still forget I even have diabetes. It’s never going away, for the rest of my life, and I know it. But some how, I still manage to forget it even happened. Like the last two months didn’t exist. And it’s just the beginning.
